Andrew Bertinetti, PhD

Assistant Professor

Dr. Andrew Bertinetti is a medical physicist and Assistant Professor in Radiation Oncology. He is originally from the Chicagoland area and received his B.S. in Physics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He then went on to complete an M.S. in Medical Physics from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, before earning a Ph.D. in Medical Physics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He then completed a 2-year residency program in Therapeutic Medical Physics at Oregon Health & Science University.

Following residency, Dr. Bertinetti returned to Vanderbilt as a faculty member within the Radiation Oncology Department in the summer of 2025.

Dr. Bertinetti’s clinical and research interests include:

  • Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)
  • Radiation metrology and Monte Carlo simulations
  • Radiopharmaceutical therapy
  • Mentoring and teaching within the Medical Physics Residency and Graduate programs

Dr. Bertinetti is a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM).
