Eric Shinohara, MD, MSCI
Dr. Shinohara is Ingram Associate Professor and Chair of Radiation Oncology. He received his Medical Doctorate and Master’s in Clinical Investigation from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in radiation oncology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He serves on several institutional committees, including chairing the Radioactive Drug Research Committee, serving as president of the Vanderbilt-Gateway Cancer Center Board of Directors, as well as being a member of the National Clinical Trials Network Executive Committee and the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center Executive Committee. Nationally, he has served on the American Board of Radiology (ABR) Board Certification Committee for Thoracic Cancers and Sarcomas, and as a reviewer for the ABR Self-Assessment Module committee and the DOD Prostate Cancer Research Program. He is a member of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (HEDI)-Association for Directors of Radiation Oncology Programs (ADROP) Collaborative Group. His research interests include improving outcomes and reducing side effects using devices and refinements to current radiation techniques as well as examining new indications for radiation. Dr. Shinohara specializes in the treatment of sarcoma and genitourinary cancers.
