Associate Nursing Officer – Neonatal Services
Nicole Neisinger began her nursing career in 2006 in the Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Children’s Hospital of Minnesota after graduating from Chippewa Valley Technical College with an Associate Degree in Nursing. Over the course of her career, she has advanced through progressively complex clinical and leadership roles within the perinatal specialty.
Jill was appointed President of the Tennessee Nurses Association (TNA) in 2013. Her work with TNA focuses on improving health care outcomes for Tennessee citizens. This includes advocating to improve access to preventive health care resources. In 2014 she was awarded The Nurse of Distinction for her clinical and community service by the TN Hospital Association. In 2014 she graduated from the Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management with a Master’s in Management in Health Care. Additionally, in May of 2023 she graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and was awarded the Founder’s Medal for academic achievement and service.
Her experience includes serving as a staff nurse, charge nurse, and transport nurse in both a Level IV NICU and a labor and delivery/postpartum setting. Nicole has also held nursing leadership positions as nurse manager of a labor and delivery unit and a Level IV NICU, and later as Director of Perinatal Services at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. She currently serves as the Associate Nursing Officer for Neonatal Services.
In her current role, Nicole has administrative responsibility for the Level IV NICU, Special Care Nursery, Transitional Care Nursery, the Stahlman Resuscitation Suite, Lactation Services, and the Neonatal Vascular Access Team. She is committed to advancing high-quality, safe, and patient- and family-centered care across the continuum of neonatal services. Her professional passion centers on nursing excellence driven by quality outcomes, continuous professional development, and operational effectiveness.
Nicole earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kaplan University and her Master of Science in Nursing as an Executive Nurse Leader from Purdue University. She holds Nurse Executive–Advanced (NEA-BC) certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She holds membership in TIPQC, AWHONN, and NANN, and she serves on the Board of Directors for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville.
