LeighAnn began her nursing career at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in 1998 after graduating from Belmont University. Throughout her career, LeighAnn has progressed through increasingly complex leadership roles, including staff nurse, clinical staff leader, and manager prior to assuming the role of Associate Nursing Officer for Perioperative and Procedural Services; Pediatric Trauma, Injury Prevention, and Project Adam; and MCC Administrative Coordinators.
In this role, LeighAnn has administrative responsibility for Monroe Carell Operating Room, Holding Room/PACU, Sterile Processing, Radiology Recovery departments as well as VCSC Operating Room and Holding Room/PACU supporting high-quality, safe, and patient- and family-centered care. She also has administrative responsibility for Trauma Services, Safety and Injury Prevention, and the Administrative Coordinators. She is particularly passionate about quality and safety, nursing excellence, operational effectiveness, staff engagement, professional development, leader development, shared governance, and evidence-based practice.
LeighAnn received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Belmont University and her Master of Science in Nursing from Loyola University New Orleans. She holds specialty certification as a Nurse Executive (NE-BC) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
