Thomas Long named executive vice chair for Pediatric Anesthesiology at Vanderbilt

Following a national search, Vanderbilt’s Department of Anesthesiology has named Thomas Long, MD, to the role of executive vice chair for Pediatric Anesthesiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, effective Aug. 14. In this role, Long will lead Pediatric Anesthesiology for the department, most visibly in Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, but also across the entire Vanderbilt Health system. He will be a prominent member of the departmental Executive Committee.

Amanda Dickert Named Chief CRNA and Director of Advanced Practice Nursing

The Department is thrilled to share that, after serving as the Interim Director of Advanced Practice Nursing and Interim Chief Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist for the past nine months, Amanda Dickert, CRNA, MS, APN, has accepted the role of Director of Advanced Practice Nursing and Chief CRNA for the Department of Anesthesiology. This comes after a comprehensive national search.

Dr. Holly Ende named Division Chief for Obstetric Anesthesiology

We have more exciting news in the Department. We are pleased to announce, Dr. Holly Ende has been promoted to the Division Chief of Obstetric Anesthesiology, effective July 1st. In this role she will oversee the clinical, educational, and research missions within the Obstetric Anesthesiology Division.

Dr. Andrew Franklin Appointed as Interim Division Chief of Pediatric Anesthesiology

The Department of Anesthesiology has appointed Dr. Andrew Franklin to Interim Division Chief of Pediatric Anesthesiology, effective July 1st.  In this role, he will continue to promote a vibrant academic and professional environment for the faculty and staff with the Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology. More specifically, Andrew will help onboard eight new pediatric anesthesiologists that will join the Division in the fall.
