Laser-induced choroidal neovascularization (LCNV) is a model of choroidal angiogenesis that is used as a preclinical model of wet age-related macular degeneration. This model employs a combination slit lamp and laser device to deliver laser burns penetrating Bruch's membrane in the eyes of rats or mice. We then use the Micron IV imaging system to non-invasively perform fluorescein angiography to assess vascular leakage. We have identified and validated VEGF antibodies that can be used as positive control treatments for each species.
