Courtney M. Tomblinson, M.D.
Courtney Tomblinson, MD, is an honors graduate of Western Kentucky University and earned her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Mayo Clinic, during which she served as Chief Resident and received the RSNA Roentgen Resident/Fellow award (2017). In 2018, Dr. Tomblinson was awarded the ACR Valerie P. Jackson Education Fellowship.
After completing a fellowship in Neuroradiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), she joined the Vanderbilt faculty in 2019 and currently serves as Associate Director, Women in Radiology and Associate Program Director, Diagnostic Radiology Residency. She serves as Chair of the American Society of Neuroradiology's Young Professional Society and is on the Board of Directors for the American Association for Women in Radiology.
Dr. Tomblinson's clinical interests include head and neck cancer imaging, temporal bone imaging, and cranial nerve imaging. Her other professional interests and scholarly work focuses on utilization of technology in medical education where she is considered a leader in the field. Both through her Twitter account (@cmtomblinson) and in her roles as Contributing Editor to Social Media and Digital Innovation for Radiographics, on the JACR Editorial Board, and on the ASHNR Website and Social Media Committee, she develops and implements new educational content in the digital sphere. As AJNR Podcast Editor, Dr. Tomblinson aims to disseminate knowledge about cutting edge Neuroradiology research and clinical applications through author interviews from recently published journal articles.
