1) Evaluate technological, financial and political factors driving the recent swell in healthcare innovation  

2) Describe concepts fundamental to deep learning and artificial intelligence in radiology

3) Identify opportunities to participate in innovation as a practicing radiologist

H. Benjamin Harvey, M.D., J.D., is Chief Medical Officer of MedAppTech, a healthcare IT company committed to driving innovation through adoption of open API technologies. In this role, he provides oversight for the development of MedAppTech’s EMR-integrated clinical solutions and health care strategy, as well as working with health care companies to identify high-value clinical solution opportunities for their unique clinical needs.  In addition to his work with MedAppTech, Dr. Harvey remains on faculty at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School where he practices neuroradiology and helps lead Quality and Safety.  Dr. Harvey has extensive training and experience in quality improvement, care redesign, healthcare regulation, and change management. He has consulted and lectured domestically and internationally on health care innovation, and sits on the American College of Radiology’s Commission on Economics, Artificial Intelligence Advisory Group, and Neurological Imaging Appropriateness Criteria Expert Panel.

Dr. Harvey received his M.D. from the University of North Carolina Medical School, his J.D. degree from Harvard Law School, and has completed coursework at Harvard Business School focused on Value-Based Health Care Delivery.  He completed his residency and fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, and resides in Boston, Massachusetts with his partner, Patrick, and English Bulldog, Sampson.
