Adonteng Kwakye Joins as Assistant Professor

The Department of Radiology is excited to welcome Adonteng Kwakye, MD, as an Assistant Professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences. Dr. Kwakye joins us from New York, where he recently completed an Interventional Radiology Fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital.

In 2021, he finished a Diagnostic Radiology Residency at the University of Kentucky. Just before, Dr. Kwakye completed a Nuclear Medicine Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. He spent a number of years at the university: he completed medical school in 2011, spent a year as an intern in General Surgery, and another year as a resident in Urology. Dr. Kwakye received his BS in Psychology from Georgia State University in 2004.

Dr. Kwakye was an SIR Resident Scholar in 2021 and has been awarded a variety of other awards and honors. He is trilingual and enjoys riding motorcycles, playing trumpet, woodworking, dance and more.
