Sports Medicine Fellowship

The Vanderbilt Primary Care and Pediatric Sports Medicine Fellowship program is a one year, ACGME accredited fellowship program, sponsored by the Department of Orthopedics & Rehabilitation.   

The program is certified through and supported by the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics.

They offer two tracks; one for Emergency Medicine and another for Non-Emergency Medicine physicians.  

They welcome applicants with backgrounds in:

  • Emergency Medicine
  • Internal Medicine
  • Medicine/ Pediatrics
  • Pediatrics
  • Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

Dr. Stephen Schaaf from the PM&R Department at Vanderbilt, is a faculty member in Sports Medicine and involved in the training of fellows.  They have accepted applications from PM&R physicians since 2015.
