The Vanderbilt Nursing Informatics Committees (VNIC) began in 2018 after the successful implementation of Epic's Electronic Medical Record, called eStar. Three subcommittees, Inpatient, Ambulatory, and Procedural, are overseen by the Steering Committee. Steering Committee members include all co-chairs of each subcommittee, the Nursing Informatics team, and Informatics and Nursing Operational leaders as identified.

Original Purpose: The committee’s purpose is to provide strategic and operational leadership in the management and advancement of nursing’s use of technology across the enterprise.
