Residency Program Director

Dr. Berardi received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy in 2016. She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Cardiology Residency at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. She pratices as an electrophysiology and general cardiology clinical pharmacy specialist at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). Dr Berardi also serves as the secretary for the VUMC Antiocoagulation Stewardship Committee, and her interest include medications safety, quality improvement, and electrophysiology.

Dr. Berardi precepts the General Cariology Learning Experience.

Zachary Cox, PharmD, FHFSA

Dr. Cox received his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy. He completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at VUMC. Currently, Dr. Cox is a Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy, an adjunct Professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and he serves as the clinical pharmacy specialist for the VUMC inpatient Heart Failure specialty team. His research interests focus on decongestion and medication strategies in acute heart failure.

Dr. Cox precepts the Heart Failure learning experience.

Dr. Fields received his Doctorate of Pharmacy and Master of Science in Healthcare Informatics degree from Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy in Nashville, TN. He went on to complete a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at TriStar Centennial Medicine Center and a PGY2 Cardiology Residency at the University of Kentucky Albert C Chandler Medical Center. Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Dr. Fields worked as an electrophysiology and general cardiology pharmacist specialist at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska.  He works as a clinical pharmacist with the advanced heart failure and ventricular assist device (VAD) team.  His clinical interests include cardiology consumer health informatics, antiarrhythmic optimization in advanced heart failure patients, and guideline directed medical therapy in VAD patients.

Dr. Fields precepts the mechanical circulatory support/VAD learning experience.

Haley Gutstein, PharmD

Dr. Gutstein received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Nova Southeastern University college of Pharmacy in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She then completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Solid Organ Transplantation Residency at MUSC in Charleston, South Carolina.

Dr. Gutstein currently serves as a cardiothoracic transplant pharmacist at VUMC and precepts the longitudinal transplant clinic experience.

Dr. Harrison received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Mercer University College of Pharmacy, she completed her PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice residency at the Medical University of South Carolina and PGY-2 Solid Organ Transplantation Residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Harrison practices as the primary cardiac transplant clinical pharmacist focusing on patient education, transitions of care, and immunosuppression management. Her interests include desensitization strategies and age-adapted immunosuppression.

Dr. Harrison precepts the solid organ transplant learning experience.

Dr. McRae received his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in 2015. He completed his PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Critical Care Residency at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. McRae serves as the cardiovascular intensive care (CVICU) and coronary care unit (CCU) pharmacist at VUMC. His clinical interests include infectious diseases and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).

Dr. McRae precepts the CCU and CVICU learning experiences.

Dr. Morrison received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Purdue University College of Pharmacy in 2017. She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Solid Organ Transplantation Residency at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Morrison currently serves as a cardiothoracic transplant pharmacist at VUMC. Her professional interests include cardiothoracic transplant and transplant infectious disease, including rare disease transmission via solid organ transplant.

Dr. Morrison precepts the Solid Organ Transplant learning experience.

Dr. Thomas received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in 2013. She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System in Little Rock, Arkansas. Dr. Thomas currently serves as the vascular and cardiovascular surgery stepdown pharmacist at VUMC. Her clinical interests include anticoagulation and pharmacogenomics.

Dr. Thomas precepts the Vascular learning experience.

Lindsey Tolbert, PharmD, BCCP

Dr. Tolbert received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Lipscomb College of Pharmacy. She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Cardiology Residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Tolbert served as the EP Clinical Pharmacist at Nebraska Medical Center in Lincoln, NE before returning to Vanderbilt’s Transplant Program.

Dr. Tolbert precepts the Solid Organ Transplant inpatient learning experience.

Regan Wade, PharmD, BCPS

Dr. Wade received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Auburn University Harrison College of Pharmacy in 2017. She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Internal Medicine Pharmacy Residency at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis, IN. Dr. Wade previously worked as an Internal Medicine/Cardiology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at UofL Health in Louisville, Ky.

Dr. Wade currently serves as the Cardiology Unit-Based Clinical Pharmacist at VUMC. Her clinical interests include heart failure, ACS, and transitions of care.
