Dorothy (Adair) McCafferty, DO, MS

I grew up in Charleston, S.C., before earning both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nutrition at Clemson (go Tigers!). I then moved to Houston, Texas, to become a registered dietitian, where I met my husband. While working as a renal dietitian, I realized I wanted to pursue a career as a physician. When I interviewed at Vanderbilt, I immediately felt it was a place where my family and I would thrive. We are a diverse yet close-knit group, which makes the experience especially meaningful. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors with my husband and two kids, going on coffee dates with friends, cooking, and running. Fun fact: I qualified for the Boston Marathon and hope to do so again soon!
