Monika Martinek, MD

I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and spent summers and winters traveling in the Czech Republic, where most of my family still lives. I was so excited to have the honor of rotating at Vanderbilt as a fourth-year medical student and instantly fell in love with the program and its people. From my first day at Vanderbilt Health, I knew I had gained an incredible family that has continued to support me as an anesthesia resident. I feel so lucky to be able to walk to work every day, enjoy the amazing Nashville music scene in my backyard, and have great hiking so close by. In my free time, I love exploring new coffee shops and breweries in Nashville, taking trips to Asheville and eastern Tennessee to go hiking, salsa dancing, and attending my favorite weekly run clubs with friends.
