Inter-CFAR Workshop on Partnerships between HBCUs and CFARS– Addressing the Under-representation of African American Investigators in HIV/AIDS

This workshop will bring together stakeholders in the HIV/AIDS research enterprise representing HBCUs, non-HBCU academic institutions at CFARs, federal agencies, and community members. From this workshop will come:
- conversation regarding opportunities for HBCUs and CFARs to work in partnership to address the underrepresentation of African Americans investigators in HIV/AIDS;
- identifying top priorities for interactions between HBCUs and CFARs that will help to address this underrepresentation;
- action items based on these high priorities;
- Inter-institutional, inter-disciplinary working groups that will collaboratively address these action items over the months after the meeting.
