Bio:
Dr. Gurjeet Birdee is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, a yoga therapist (C-IAYT), and a health services researcher dedicated to advancing whole-person care. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Rochester in 2002, completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Miami Health System, Jackson Memorial Hospital in 2006, and went on to receive a Master of Public Health and a fellowship in General Internal Medicine from Harvard Medical School.;
Dr. Birdee’s clinical and research expertise lies in integrative health, lifestyle medicine, and mind-body practices. He completed formal training in clinical effectiveness research during his fellowship in the Division for Research and Education in Complementary & Integrative Medical Therapies at Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on the clinical effectiveness and mechanisms of integrative therapies for chronic disease management and wellness, with a particular emphasis on yoga and yoga-based slow breathing. His research explores how breathing patterns impact physiological and psychological stress and examines the role of integrative treatments in improving patient-reported outcomes for conditions such as chronic pain and anxiety.
Passionate about delivering whole-health care, Dr. Birdee integrates his training in medicine, pediatrics, lifestyle medicine, and yoga therapy to support patients in achieving optimal well-being.
