FAQ
FAQ Summer Students
Does the program provide housing?
- Vanderbilt University offers on-campus housing options, which we can help arrange. Additionally, past students have opted for off-campus housing. Housing choice is at the discretion of each student. Your stipend can be used to support summer housing.
Is there on campus parking?
- Paid parking is available on campus.
Do I need my own transportation?
- We strongly recommend having a vehicle during the summer. Our medical center has several off-site clinics and surgery centers, which you may be options for shadowing and/or meeting with your mentor.
Can I start the program later/leave earlier?
- Students are required to be on campus and attend the program from start (June 1st) to finish (July 24th).
If you need to leave for a few days during the program for a special event (family events, weddings, graduations), exceptions to our attendance policy will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
What will be required in the application?
- As part of your online application, you will be required to upload:
- a letter of good standing from your school
- two signed letters of recommendation from faculty
- an up-to-date curriculum vitae or resume
Will there be interviews as part of the selection process?
We will invite selected applicants to interview with our faculty. Interviews will be conducted remotely via a scheduled video call.
