Mission

To establish a community of scholars and collaborators across Vanderbilt Health to generate and advance research to inform and guide innovative solutions that advance our understanding of population health and leverage engagement research to promote health and health outcomes and "achieve optimal health across all populations."

Vision

To become the nation's leader in population health and engagement research by creating a rigorous environment for application-driven research with rapid response to policies and practices.

Pillars

Pillar 1: Community Building Among Population Health and Engagement Research Scholars

Develop and support a community of Vanderbilt Health investigators engaged in population health and engagement research and facilitate communication channels to facilitate collaboration. 

Pillar 2: Collaboration and Training in Population Health Engagement Resaerch Scholarship

Collaborate with existing programs to expand training and enrichment opportunities for students, residents, fellows, and faculty.

Pillar 3: Population Health and Engagement Research Exploratory Initiatives

Assume leadership of the CHSR Population Health and Engagement Research Pilot Awards program.

Pillar 4: Relationship Building between Population Health & Engagement Researchers and Community Experts

Expand current resources and build further relationships with the health system and the community to support new projects to advance innovation and improve population health and health outcomes for all.

Pillar 5: Population Health and Engagement Research Workforce Initiatives

Serve as a resource and participate in the recruitment and training of research faculty and trainees who are committed to the conduct to innovative, rigorous, reproducible, and unbiased research to address the health needs of all Americans.
