Carolyn Audet, PhD

Dr. Audet is a Professor in the Department of Health Policy at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and an Honorary Associate Professor at MRC/Wits Rural Public Health and Health Transitions Research Unit (Agincourt), in the School of Public Health, Faculty of Health Sciences, at University of the Witwatersrand, in Johannesburg, South Africa. At Vanderbilt she is the co-Director of the Center for Clinical Quality and Implementation Research and the Associate Director of the Institute for Global Health. She currently is the Implementation Science (IS) Core Director for the IMPAACT network, sits on the IS Core for the ACTG network, and is the Director of the Tennessee CFAR IS Core.
Dr. Audet’s focuses on three main lines of research: 1) collaboration with traditional healers, traditional birth attendants to increase testing, linkage, and treatment adherence among people living with HIV and TB, 2) developing multilevel interventions to support the mental health and well-being of health care workers, and 3) employing implementation science methods to improve the delivery of evidence-based medicine in such disparate fields as infectious disease, genomics, and cancer screening.
Dr. Audet is the PI on several grants from the NIMH, NIAID, NHGRI, and the CDC. She received her PhD from Vanderbilt University, where she studied Anthropology, a MSci in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and she competed a Fellowship in Implementation Science from the Washington University in St Louis.
