Pediatric Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Research

Vanderbilt Pediatric Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery participates in a variety of basic science, clinical and translational research, which is coordinated through the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics. Examples of research in Pediatric Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery include endoscopic ear surgery, innovations in the diagnosis of airway inflammation, understanding and improving outcomes in airway reconstruction, non-invasive diagnosis of middle ear pathogens using Raman spectroscopy, cleft care, and complex obstructive sleep apnea treatment paradigms. Device design projects are ongoing with the Vanderbilt Institute for Surgery and Engineering (VISE).
