Andrea Bryant, PharmD, MBA, MHA

Vice President,  Business Operations

Andrea holds a BS Pharmacy from the University of Missouri, Kansas City and PharmD from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.  She completed her business training with a Master of Business Administration in Management from the University of Memphis. She also completed a Master of Health Administration from Ohio University. Andrea has served in various staff, clinical and management roles during her career in health system pharmacy practice.

Her practice interests include budgeting, revenue cycle, procurement/inventory control, compliance, human resources, data analytics, diversion prevention, medication access, and 340B.

Andrea precepts the business management rotation experience.

 

Andrew Smith, Pharm.D, MBA, BCPS

Pharmacy Manager, Central Pharmacy

Andrew completed his Pharm.D at Lipscomb University and his MBA at Tennessee Technological University. He started his pharmacy career at Vanderbilt upon graduation from Lipscomb and has served in various operational and leadership roles in the department.

His interests include pharmacy operations, automation and technology, staff development, and pharmacy leadership.

Andrew co-precepts the automation and technology, inpatient operations and staffing experience.

 

Ashley Houser, PharmD, MMHC, BCPS

Sr. Director, Hospital & Clinics Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt

Ashley holds a PharmD from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She completed an ASHP accredited PGY-1 residency at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Following residency, Ashley worked in a variety of clinical and operational roles at Bronson Methodist Hospital before transitioning to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in the role of Sterile Products Supervisor. Over time, Ashley has transitioned into her current role at Monroe Carell serving as Senior Director of Hospitals & Clinics, overseeing the operational management of five pharmacy locations at Monroe Carell. In 2018, she also completed her Masters in Management of Health Care at Vanderbilt University.

Ashley's practice interests include pharmacy management, sterile & nonsterile compounding compliance, medication safety, inventory and automation management, disaster planning and emergency preparedness, and staff education.

Ashley precepts the pediatric pharmacy administration experience.

 

Bob Lobo, PharmD, FCCP, BCPS

Director, Clinical Programs

Bob graduated from University of Nebraska College of Pharmacy and completed an ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency training program at the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in 1989. Following residency he accepted a position as a pharmacist at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. At Methodist Bob helped to establish clinical pharmacy services to adult inpatient psychiatric, geriatric, neurologic, and internal medicine patients.  He also served on the faculty at the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy and was a preceptor for students and residents, as well as a residency program director. Bob transitioned from clinical practice to a clinical leader role in 2006 and relocated to Nashville in 2008 where he currently serves as Senior Director, Medication Policy, Education, and Research in the Department of Pharmaceutical Services at Vanderbilt. 

Bob’s practice interests include medication use policy, clinical decision support and oversight of educational programs for students, residents and staff.

Bob precepts the medication policy and formulary management rotation experience.

 

 

Brandon Muñoz, PharmD, MS

Pharmacy Manager - Jim Ayers Tower Satellite Pharmacy

Brandon is from Madison, WI. He completed his undergraduate and Doctorate of Pharmacy degrees at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed his Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership residency at the University of Wisconsin (UW) Health. Following residency, Brandon accepted his first managerial position at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center as the Jim Ayers Tower Satellite Pharmacy Manager.

Medication distribution, inventory management, automation and reporting, process improvement, and pharmacist and pharmacy technician training and development

 

Chelsea Witt, PharmD, MS, MBA, BCSCP, BCPS

Manager, Clinic Operations and Ambulatory Surgery; Residency Program Coordinator, HSPAL Program

Chelsea completed her PharmD and MBA at East Tennessee State University. She completed a PGY1/PGY2/MS Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership program at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH. She stayed on at her residency site in her first role managing inpatient sterile compounding operations. She then moved back to her hometown in Nashville and took the supervisor role at the One Hundred Oaks Clinic Pharmacy. After a few years, she moved into the current role as the manager of 4 different pharmacies with a focus on ambulatory surgery, outpatient infusion, and provider clinic operations. Chelsea is very active in ASHP and TPA and has served on the New Practitioners Executive Committee and TSHP Awards Committee Chair. She serves as the chair of the VUMC Technician Advancement Review Board and was selected as one of the TPA's Emerging Leaders.

Chelsea's practice interests include ambulatory operations, sterile compounding management, process improvement, and people development.

Chelsea serves as the RPC and precepts the Leadership Longitudinal Rotation

 

Deidra Dickerson, Pharm.D, MMHC, BCSCP, ACC

Senior Director, Inpatient Pharmacy Operations; Residency Program Director, HSPAL Program

Deidra holds a B.S. from Vanderbilt University and Pharm.D. from the University of Tennessee.  She completed a PGY1/PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) residency at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN.  Subsequently she worked at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH as a Pharmacy Operations Manager with oversight over 7 satellite pharmacies and automated dispensing cabinets.  She transitioned to VUH in 2018 as the Sterile and Non-Sterile Compounding Manager and in 2023 took the role as Inpatient Operations Director of Pharmacy at Vanderbilt University Hospital. Deidra returned to Vanderbilt in recent years, becoming a Double Dore after completion of her Master of Management in Health Care at Vanderbilt's Owen Graduate School of Management. Deidra also obtained a Coaching for Life and Work Certificate Program with UC Davis.

Deidra’s practice interests include operations, career and leadership coaching, and strategic planning.

Deidra serves as the RPD for the program and co-precepts the Inpatient Operations rotation experience.

 

 

Emily Gajda, PharmD, MHA

Pharmacy Manager, Sterile & Non-Sterile Compounding

Emily earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa and Masters in Healthcare Administration from West Virginia University. She completed a PGY1/PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) residency at West Virginia University Medicine. Upon completion of residency, Emily transitioned into her current role as a Pharmacy Operations Manager, overseeing sterile and non-sterile compounding at VUH. She serves as a co-chair of the Sterile and Non-Sterile Compounding Subcommittee at VUMC. She is an active member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).

Emily's practice interests include operations management, medication safety, process improvement, team and leadership development, and professional advocacy.

Emily co-precepts the Inpatient Operation rotation experience.

 

Erin Neal, PharmD, MMHC, BCPS

Director, Population Health Pharmacy Services

Erin is the Director of Population Health Pharmacy Services at Vanderbilt Health and the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network where she develops and implements programs to provide high quality care at a lower cost for 300,000 covered lives under management. She is also responsible for clinical pharmacy services provided for VUMC Primary Care and the Discharge Care Center. Erin holds a BS degree from Sewanee-The University of the South, a PharmD from Auburn University, and a Masters in Healthcare Management from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. Erin completed an ASHP accredited PGY1 Residency at Vanderbilt University Hospital and has held a number of staff, clinical and management positions with the department during her tenure.

Erin’s practice interests include comprehensive medication management, transitions of care, population health, value-based care, and process and quality improvement.

Erin precepts an elective on population health and value-based care

 

Garrett Crothers PharmD, MBA, BCPS

Senior Director, Pharmacy Revenue Cycle

Garrett holds both a BS degree and a Pharm.D. from Lipscomb University. He completed a PGY1/PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) while also completing an MBA at Lipscomb University. Upon completing his residency, Garrett transitioned into the role of Program Director of Special Projects supporting a variety of business functions with a focus on project management. Garrett now leads the Pharmacy Revenue Cycle team coordinating initiatives that support billing and revenue cycle related functions in the hospital, clinic, specialty and retail areas.

Garrett’s practice interests include revenue cycle, quality/process improvement, analytics, and project management.

Garrett precepts the longitudinal finance rotation.

 

Halden VanCleave Pharm.D, MS, BCPS

Manager, Clinical Services

Halden completed a 2-year Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He earned his BS from Lipscomb University, PharmD from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy, and a Master of Science in Health-System Pharmacy Administration from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. Prior to coming to Vanderbilt, he served as a Clinical Operations Manager within the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Halden now leads the clinical pharmacists who cover the internal medicine, solid organ transplant and infectious disease service lines.

Halden’s practice interests include clinical pharmacy practice advancement, pharmacy leadership, medication safety, and quality improvement.

He precepts the Clinical Pharmacy Management and Front-Line Clinical Leadership rotation experience and serves as a mentor for the program.

 

Jared Gabbert, PharmD, MBA, BCPS

Pharmacy Manager, VMG Pharmacy

Jared holds a PharmD and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Kentucky. He completed the Vanderbilt University Medical Center PGY1/2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) residency program. Upon completion of the HSPAL program, Jared transitioned into the role of a Clinic Pharmacy Manager Pharmacy. In his current role, Jared manages clinic pharmacies, oversees medication management in many of the VUMC clinics, and leads the clinical infusion pharmacist services, and manages several ambulatory clinical pharmacists.

His practice interests include ambulatory operations, advancement of pharmacy practice, process improvement, and educating pharmacy residents and students.

Jared precepts the PGY-2 clinic operations rotation experience, PGY-2 clinical ambulatory rotation experience, and PGY-1 drug monograph projects.

 

Lindsay Adams, PharmD

Sr. Director, Compliance and Process Improvement

Lindsay holds a B.S. degree from Belmont University and a Pharm.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina.  She completed an ASHP accredited residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center.  Following residency, Lindsay accepted her first position at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and has served in various staff, clinical, compliance, and management roles during her tenure.  In her current role, she is responsible for compliance with regulatory standards as well as the review and development of medication related policy per best practice guidelines.

Lindsay’s practice interests include pharmacy management, regulatory compliance, medication safety, medication use policy, staff education and quality improvement.

Lindsay precepts the compliance administration experience.

 

Mark Sullivan, Pharm.D, MBA, BCPS, FASHP

Chief Pharmacy Officer, SVP Shared Clinical Services

Mark holds a BS Biology from University of Tennessee at Martin, a BS Pharmacy from Auburn University, a Pharm.D from the University of Mississippi and a MBA from the Massey School of Business at Belmont University. Mark has served in committee and leadership roles in ASHP, TSHP, as well as serving as faculty for the ASHP Practice Leaders Section’s Manager’s Bootcamp and Leaders Conference and serving as a past director at large for the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders. He is currently a member of the Vizient Pharmacy Network group as well as various advisory and credentialling groups. Mark has served in staff, clinical, consultative and management roles in health system pharmacy during his career.

Mark’s practice interests include pharmacy management, technology, medication safety, and clinical practice management.

Mark preceptors the Health-System Administration rotation experience.

 

Matt Felbinger, Pharm.D, MBA, BCPS

Pharmacy Manager – VUH Perioperative Pharmacy

Matt completed his Pharm.D at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy, a PGY1 Residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and a PGY2 Critical Care Residency at Duke University where he also served as Chief Resident.

Matt’s practice experience includes staff and clinical pharmacist roles focusing on critical care and emergency medicine practice as well as pharmacy leadership and management practice.

Matt co-precepts the Inpatient Operations rotation experience.

 

Molly Knostman, PharmD, MHA, CPEL

Executive Director, Adult Campus Pharmacy Services

Molly holds a BS in Pharmacy from Ohio Northern University and Pharm.D. from University of Colorado.  She completed the MHA degree from Simmons University.  Molly has worked in community pharmacy, long term care and hospital pharmacy in various staff, clinical and management roles during her career. She was recognized as a Vanderbilt Credo winner, a Vanderbilt Five Pillar Leader, and a Friend of Nursing award winner for her contributions to the enterprise.

Molly’s practice interests include pharmacy leadership, pharmacy technician training/advancement and technology and manager development.

Molly co-precepts the automation and technology rotation experience.

 

Nick Hopkins, Pharm.D, BCSCP 

Pharmacy Manager – Oncology Pharmacy Operations

Nick is a graduate of the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy. Nick assisted in the implementation of the Tennessee Oncology Pharmacists Association and currently serves as a Board Member. He is the recipient of the Vanderbilt Credo award.

Nick has practice experience in chain retail and health system pharmacy, pharmacy management and logistics, hazardous sterile compounding, pharmacy expansion, layout, and optimization.

Nick co-precepts a pharmacy operations experience in the ambulatory/inpatient setting.

 

Rusty Catlin, PharmD, MMHC

Executive Director, Retail Pharmacy Operations

Rusty attended Austin Peay State University for pre-pharmacy studies, obtained his Pharm.D from the McWhorter School of Pharmacy at Samford University, and completed his MMHC at the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. Rusty has served in pharmacist leadership roles at various retail pharmacy locations and has led efforts to build discharge pharmacy services and embed pharmacists in clinics serving chronic disease states.

His practice interests include retail pharmacy services, expansion of pharmacist’s clinical roles in ambulatory practice, informatics, compliance, logistics and pharmacy infrastructure.

Rusty precepts the procurement and enterprise operations support experience.

 

 

Shannon Patterson, PharmD, MS

Clinical Supervisor, Enterprise Support for Infusions

Shannon earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree through studies at both Washington State University and the University of Washington. She went on to match at the University of North Carolina (UNC) for her Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) residency training, where she also completed a Master of Science degree at the Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Following the completion of her residency, Shannon relocated to Nashville, where she has served for the past year as a Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor within Enterprise Support for Infusions. In this role, she provides leadership and oversight for infusion pharmacy operations across the health system. Shannon has a strong interest in global pharmacy engagement and development. During her PGY2 year, she traveled to Amman, Jordan to support international pharmacy initiatives and continues to advocate for the advancement of global pharmacy practice. She is an active member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and remains committed to leadership, innovation, and global collaboration in pharmacy practice.

Shannon's practice interests include ambulatory clinical pharmacy practice models, ambulatory pharmacy finance, and clinical pharmacy services

Shannon serves as a residency mentor and co-precepts ambulatory care clinical pharmacy leadership.

 

Terry Bosen, PharmD, CPPS

Program Director, Medication Safety

Terry holds a Pharm.D from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.  She completed an ASHP accredited residency in pharmacy practice at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.  She later worked at UCLA Medical Center as the Supervisor of Surgical Satellites in Los Angeles, California.  Dr. Bosen transitioned to Vanderbilt in 2006 working initially as a staff pharmacist in VUH and then as VUH Satellite Pharmacy Supervisor before moving to her current position in 2014.

Terry holds a Pharm.D from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.  She completed an ASHP accredited residency in pharmacy practice at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.  She later worked at UCLA Medical Center as the Supervisor of Surgical Satellites in Los Angeles, California.  Dr. Bosen transitioned to Vanderbilt in 2006 working initially as a staff pharmacist in VUH and then as VUH Satellite Pharmacy Supervisor before moving to her current position in 2014.
