Ansley Kunnath

MD/PhD student

Ansley Kunnath is an MD/PhD student at Vanderbilt. She has a Bachelor's degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience from Rutgers University. Her current research interests include neuroplasticity, cross-modal reorganization, and audiovisual integration in cochlear implant users. She aims to characterize neural changes in adults with hearing loss and explore how we can use this information to predict cochlear implant outcomes and develop new treatments. She is also currently leading a clinical trial investigating the effects of donepezil on speech recognition, cortical activation, and cognition in cochlear implant users. Ansley's career goals are to treat patients with hearing disorders as an otolaryngologist and run an auditory neuroscience lab. Outside of the lab, Ansley enjoys cooking Indian food, playing the ukulele, and teaching her cats new tricks.
