Vanderbilt Health Medical Assistants are vital to our health care team. They primarily support the Vanderbilt Adult Ambulatory Division and Monroe Carell Pediatric Ambulatory.
Qualifications to become a Vanderbilt Health Medical Assistant
• Current Certified Medical Assistant having completed a Medical Assistant Program
• Completed a Medical Assistant Program but not yet certified
Certification is required from one of the Vanderbilt Health-accepted certifying bodies within 120 days of hire.
• Have not completed a Medical Assistant Program nor yet certified, but have a minimum of 12 months of patient care experience
New hires may be eligible to sit for a Medical Assistant Certification Exam with one of the VUMC-accepted certifying bodies.
