Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN's)

 

Position Summary
 
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) supports the registered nurse or licensed physician or dentist, as well as the overall health-care team, in providing patient care. The LPN works in close collaboration with the team to evaluate the patient's plan of care and progress toward goal attainment. All patient-care activities are undertaken with the delegation/supervision of a licensed professional.

LPN's at Vanderbilt are employed primarily in outpatient or procedural areas.

Education Requirements
 
Graduate of an accredited discipline-specific program.
Job Experience Requirements
 
Required time in field previous to employment will vary, depending on the position.
 
Licensure Requirements
 
Licensed Practical Nurse - TN License
