Everyone expressed enjoyment in their work, who they worked with, and seemed to have a great work-life balance.  It was evident that the administrators were very receptive to feedback and willing to adapt, which I believe is crucial in the ever-evolving field of PM&R. The attendings and their accomplishments were also very impressive, and I knew I was going to get excellent training if I matched here. In addition to that, I recognized having the opportunity to spend intern year at VUMC (a top internal medicine program) would give me the foundation of medicine that would allow me to feel comfortable caring for any patient going forward. Finally, I would be lying if the lights, sounds, and food of Nashville weren’t a factor in where I would be spending 4 years of my life.
