Residency research project/ sub-specialty interest: Simone's primary research interest is patient's with persistent pain after spine surgery, for which she earned a 2018 NASS Research Award. She plans to continue her training in a pain medicine fellowship after residency.  

Simone grew up traveling the world with her family as "military brat."  After graduating from the Air Force Academy she commissioned in the United States Air Force.  As a Communications Officer she served 5 years, including a deployment to Kuwait, before starting medical school in Charleston, SC.  Given her unique background she had a strong interest in being part of Vanderbilt's first PM&R residency class and moved to Nashville, TN - one place not she had not checked off on her travel list!  In her spare time, Simone spends time with her pup, Tanner, competes as a professional athlete in bodybuilding, volunteers her time to provide medical coverage for various sports, and is the primary physician for the Cane Ridge High School football team.
