Division of Adult Reconstruction

At Vanderbilt’s Division of Adult Reconstruction, we believe in and rely on the principles of reconstructive surgery rather than robotics or navigation technology. Our faculty members provide top notch joint replacement procedures, and train residents and fellows to perform these technically demanding procedures. Together, they work to continuously study and explore ways to improve these surgeries so patients can quickly regain mobility.

Division of Musculoskeletal Oncology

Our high surgical volume and highly complex cases make us leaders in innovative, multi-disciplinary clinical care and research. The Vanderbilt Division of Musculoskeletal Oncology includes four faculty with nearly 70 years of combined experience who use their surgical expertise and clinical knowledge to provide compassionate, thoughtful and evidence-guided cancer care — and exceptional, hands-on training to our residents and fellows.

Division of Pediatric Orthopaedics

The Pediatric Orthopaedic faculty at Vanderbilt train residents and fellows to provide care for the full spectrum of pediatric orthopedic conditions and pathology, and prepare them to be academic and medical leaders in the field.

From the simple to the complex, we’ll help you further develop your skills in diagnosing, treating and managing conditions in infants, children and adolescents, including developing a bedside manner that puts children and their families at ease.

Division of Spine Surgery

The Vanderbilt Division of Spine Surgery includes faculty with a wide range of expertise in all areas of spine surgery, including cervical, thoracic, and lumbar conditions. We offer a conservative approach that only employs surgery as a last resort when other options have failed. Our surgeons are trained in the latest surgical techniques, including motion-preserving surgery (cervical disc replacement and laminoplasty) and minimally invasive / endoscopic spine surgery. We believe in a collaborative approach to patient care and in training residents and fellows.

Division of Sports Medicine

The Division of Sports Medicine is committed to providing a team oriented, highly ethical and humble culture — and to educating tomorrow’s leaders in sports medicine. All of our faculty, from every sports medicine discipline, work together while teaching our team of fellows while collaborating regularly with colleagues in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Together, we strive for excellence in everything we do, from clinical care and community involvement to education and research.

Division of Hand & Upper Extremity

At Vanderbilt’s Division of Hand and Upper Extremity, we maintain continual focus on developing our expertise in the clinical, surgical and research aspects of hand and upper extremity ailments, and on training future doctors.

With a comprehensive program of care for conditions that impact the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder, our faculty and fellows work together to:

Division of Research

At Vanderbilt, we leverage the existing basic, clinical and translational expertise to foster a robust collaboration across Vanderbilt’s departments and institutes.

Our faculty develop, implement, publish and share innovative research to improve the care and management of patients with musculoskeletal conditions — all with the goal of providing the funding, infrastructure, support and training needed for our faculty to do complete and publish their research.

Division of Orthopaedic Trauma

Our Division of Orthopaedic Trauma provides immediate and ongoing care for patients with traumatic injuries — treating more than 4,500 adults and children each year at our Level I trauma center, many with multiple injuries.
