Kristen Eckstrand, PhD, and team were recognized at the Annual AAMC Meeting in Chicago

The AAMC announced a new publication titled Implementing Curricular and Institutional Climate Changes to Improve Health Care for Individuals Who Are LGBT, Gender Nonconforming, or Born with DSD: A Resource for Medical Educators. This was developed to provide education about the health needs of individuals who are LGBT, gender nonconforming, and/or born with DSD, and the role of academic medicine and the health care system in supporting these populations.

Kim Lomis, MD, named National Chair of the Section on Undergraduate Medical Education of the Group on Educational Affairs

At the recent Annual Meeting of the Associate of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) in Chicago, Kim Lomis, MD was named National Chair of the Section on Undergraduate Medical Education of the Group on Educational Affairs. Lomis will coordinate national UME projects of the AAMC membership, including ensuring medical student readiness for residency and fostering professional identity formation. Lomis will also serve on the Steering Committee for the Group on Educational Affairs, which plans to bolster initiatives that span the continuum of medical training.

Charlene M. Dewey, M.D., M.Ed., FACP,  Associate Professor of Medical Education and Administration and Internal Medicine, Co-Director, Center for Professional Health, Chair, Faculty and Physician Wellness committee and Director of the Educator Development Core and the Educator Development Program; Office of Health Sciences Education, was a visiting professor in medical education at the Center for Professionalism in Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine on October 16, 2014 in Houston, Texas.
