Application Process for the Nursing Tuition Assistance Benefit

The staff member must be admitted through the normal admissions process into a ACEN and/or CCNE accredited School/College of Nursing for degree-seeking purposes for a nursing degree (BSN or MSN) prior to use of the benefit.

The staff member must apply for the nursing tuition benefit online at the time of registration for each school term. The VUMC Nursing Tuition Assistance Benefit request procedure is an online application process.   The Human Resources Benefit must also be used each term.  The application for the HR benefit is a paper process.

For more information about the admissions process to enroll in an undergraduate or graduate course of study, contact the Undergraduate or Graduate Admissions Office for the School/College of interest.

Note: In an effort to maintain adequate patient care resources, it is necessary for employees to negotiate all arrangements for special working hours/shifts with the supervisor prior to the initiation of educational course work under this plan. Accommodations for school schedule commitments are not guaranteed. All employees refer to Policy CL 20-06.25 Patient Care Services: Scheduling Process, regarding maximum shift length and consecutive days in providing direct care to patients.
