CHSR Work in Progress (WIP) Meetings
Work in Progress sessions provide opportunities for fellows and junior faculty to present research in progress and gain valuable feedback on their work. These weekly sessions are well-attended by an interdisciplinary group of trainees and faculty. Thus, they also provide participants with exposure to other researchers at Vanderbilt and the VA, and facilitate networking with colleagues who have similar or complementary interests.
CHSR Biostatistics Conference Series
The monthly Biostatistics Conference Series provides ongoing education in contemporary methodological issues in biostatistics related to HSR. The series is led by the CHSR Biostatistics Director, Dr. Robert Greevy, who is also available to provide consultative services related to study design, data collection, data management, analysis, and presentation of results.
Center for Clinical Quality and Implementation Research (CCQIR) Scholarly Series
These weekly seminars are hosted by the Center for Clinical Quality and Implementation Research, which is supported by CHSR. CCQIR serves as the nexus for implementation research and education at VUMC, bringing together more than 30 core faculty members from the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and Management. The Scholarly Series provides continuing education in improvement science, implementation science, and leadership skills through a combination of didactic sessions, workshops, and journal clubs.

VA Quality Scholars (VAQS) Fellowship Program
The mission of this advanced fellowship program is to prepare scholars to be leaders who can apply knowledge and methods of health care improvement to the care of veterans, innovate and continually improve health care, teach health professionals about health care improvement, and perform research and develop new knowledge for the ongoing improvement of the quality and value of health care services.
Vanderbilt Patient/pRactice Outcomes Research in Effectiveness and Systems Science (PROgRESS)
The goal of the PROgRESS Program is to train early-career researchers who can address healthcare knowledge gaps and translate knowledge into application. This T32 is funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), and focuses on patient-centered outcomes research, implementation science and health and community policy.
Junior Faculty and Postdoctoral K12
Vanderbilt Scholars in T4 Translational Research (V-STTaR) K12
This mentored research training program is dedicated to developing independent investigators capable of addressing major gaps that exist in the widespread implementation of proven interventions into practice and is supported by NIH/NHLBI. Scholars receive up to 3 years of individualized training with 75% protected research time to focus on studying real-world implementation of interventions to improve patient care in heart, lung, blood, and sleep disorders.
Vanderbilt Emergency Medicine Research Training (VEMRT) K12
Vanderbilt Emergency Medicine Research Training (VEMRT) K12 career development program trains clinician-scientists in emergency care. Led by Alan Storrow, M.D., Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine, the program provides training in research areas such as acute cardiopulmonary emergencies, the neurobiology of acute psychiatric illness, and patient-centered emergency care nursing.
Vanderbilt Learning Health System Scholar (LHSS) K12
The goal of this program is to draw together scholars and mentors across disciplines and model team science integral to learning health systems. This K12 is co-funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and Patient-Centered Outcome Research Institute (PCORI). The LHSS K12 focuses on patient-centered outcomes research, pragmatic trials, implementation and dissemination of science, health policy and community health, stakeholder engagement and methods advancement.
