Advice to Providers: Communicate, Educate, Vaccinate.

In a recent perspective piece written for and published by Infectious Diseases Consultant, Dr. William Schaffner, MD, professor in the Department of Health Policy, offers advice to providers who are encountering patients who may have questions or possible exposure to measles.

In the blog post, Schaffner writes that health care providers "need to vaccinate as many persons who are susceptible and unvaccinated as quickly as possible.

"That will end the outbreak and further ensure that future importations of measles from abroad will not spread widely in the United States," he writes.
