Call for Abstracts

The purpose of this invitational conference is to present and promote active exchange and discussion of the latest health economics research among senior and junior economists.  

Ten papers will be accepted for presentation.  The conference will consist of a full day of presentations on Friday October 13, 2017 and a half-day of presentations on Saturday, October 14, 2017.  Each paper will be allotted 55 minutes, including 30 minutes for presentation, 10 minutes for discussant comments, and 15 minutes for discussion from the floor.  The number of participants in the conference will be limited.  While submissions are invited from any geographical location, preference will be given to presenters from the Southeastern region of the United States. 

Submit a Paper for Presentation

If you would like to participate, please submit an abstract (maximum of two pages) in electronic format (pdf preferred) to HPEvents@vanderbilt.edu by 5:00 pm CST, Thursday, June 15, 2017.  Submissions should be unpublished.

Decisions will be made by Friday, July 14, 2017. 

Completed papers must be received by the conference organizers by Wednesday, September 13, 2017

SHESGC is an invitation-only conference with attendance restricted to people actively participating as presenters or discussants.

Discussants

While discussants are typically drawn from paper submitters, if you would like to participate as a discussant without submitting an abstract for consideration, please indicate your interest by submitting your information via email to: HPEvents@vanderbilt.edu no later than 5:00 p.m. CST Thursday, June 15, 2016.

Logistics

The conference sessions will take place at the Owen Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee.  The conference will run from approximately 8:00 a.m. on Friday, October 13, through 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 14.  Participants are expected to stay for the entire conference.  

Some meals will be provided.  All other expenses, including transportation and lodging, are the participants’ responsibility.
