Jason Russell is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Vanderbilt University Center for Cognitive Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. He received his doctorate in Pharmacology from Vanderbilt University in 2023. His dissertation work focused on muscarinic modulation of sleep/wake architecture and arousal and the implication for Alzheimer’s disease treatment. His scientific interests lie in translational biomarkers in the development of new therapeutics and the role of cholinergic decline in sleep disturbances seen in patient populations at risk of dementia.
