Research interests include: latent variable modeling, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), structural equation modeling (SEM), mediation analysis, application of advanced statistical methodology for prevention research on substance use and HIV risk behavior.

Dr. Huang also has expertise in longitudinal data analysis, hierarchical linear models. He is proficient with Mplus statistical software. He has served on a number of NIH and CDC-funded studies focused on substance abuse and HIV prevention (totaling approximately $10 million).
