Other common issues (i.e., things that can delay grant submission/review if they must be fixed)

General

  • Figures, tables (other than those included in the provided format pages), and graphics are not allowed in the biosketch.
  • Do not embed or attach files (e.g. video, graphics, sound, data).
  • The biosketch may not exceed 5 pages total per person.
  • There should not be any hyperlinks or URLs included anywhere in the biosketch. The only exception is an URL to a full list of your published work, which can be included at the end of section C.
    • Including this URL is optional
    • The URL must be to a federal government website (i.e., one with a .gov suffix). NIH recommends using My Bibliography.

Section A

  • The purpose of the personal statement is to highlight the experience/expertise that makes them relevant/key to a project. 
  • There can be no more than 4 citations or research products listed in the personal statement section.

Section B

  • Items should be listed in reverse chronological order. 

Section C

  • There can be no more than 5 contributions in section C, and no more than 4 citations listed for each contribution.
  • The description should be no more than ½ page long, including the citations. 
  • All citations should also include PMCID numbers if they are available.
