Our Wednesday seminar series continues on October 4 at 1:30 p.m. Central Time with a virtual presentation by Yi Zhao, assistant professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science at Indiana University School of Medicine, on regression models of covariance matrices.

Also on October 4: Michael Matheny, professor of biomedical informatics, medicine and biostatistics, and director of the Center for Improving the Public's Health through Informatics, will present "Opportunities and Challenges in the Use of AI and ML in Population Health Informatics" in DBMI's Grand Rounds at noon. This will be a hybrid presentation, with lunch provided in Room 8110 at 2525 West End Avenue on a first-come first-served basis. See the DBMI events page for details.


The Middle Tennessee chapter of the American Statistical Association (whose officers include members of our department) is hosting a one-day course taught by Mine Çetinkaya-Rundel on applying R Markdown skills and expertise to Quarto. It will be held in person in Nashville on Friday, October 20. Visit the course page for more information.
