Stephanie Bryan is the Lead Communications Specialist at Vanderbilt Memory & Alzheimer's Center. Passionate about healthcare storytelling, Stephanie joins the team with a background in broadcast journalism, advertising and public relations. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a bachelor's degree in journalism. Stephanie worked as a general assignment reporter and weekend anchor, where she covered various topics including the COVID-19 pandemic and it's economic and public health impact, the development of the COVID-19 vaccination, the 2020 election, and local crime. In her free time, you can find Stephanie baking, at a hot yoga class, cheering on the Mizzou tigers or spending time with her dog and husband.

Dr. Yukti Vyas is a Clinical Scientist and Training Programs Manager at the Vanderbilt Memory and Alzheimer's Center. Dr. Vyas completed her PhD in biomedical science at the University of Auckland in New Zealand, and postdoctoral fellowship at the Neurocentre Magendie, INSERM in France. She has a strong background in preclinical research specializing in investigating therapeutic strategies for neurological disorders. In addition, Dr. Vyas has extensive experience in mentoring and supervising research trainees and has taught several international advanced neuroscience courses.

In her role, Dr. Vyas manages Dr. Angela Jefferson's training program. She works closely with trainees to provide mentorship and support for their research activities, facilitates intra- and inter-team collaborations and reviews all trainee work products.

In her free time, Dr. Vyas enjoys spending time exploring new landscapes and traveling.

Hearing Loss and Alzheimer's

Have you noticed your hearing is not as quite as good as it used to be? You are not alone. According to the National Institutes of Health, about one third of U.S. adults over 65 experience hearing loss, with two thirds of adults over 70 suffering from hearing impairment severe enough to affect their daily communication.

Dr. Anne Gifford is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She joined the faculty in the Division of Geriatrics at Vanderbilt after completing a residency in Family Medicine in Worcester, MA, and fellowship training in geriatric medicine in Portland, OR.  

Dr. Gifford’s clinical interests include treatment of osteoporosis in older adults, recognizing osteoporosis in male older adults, treating urogynecologic issues, dementia diagnosis, and dementia care at every stage, as well as support for families and caregivers. She is interested in integrating geriatric medicine into emergency and surgical medical fields in hopes of providing the best possible care for older adults.
