Our office is organized to bring VUMC Nursing’s Professional Practice Model to life. We promote and support excellence in nursing practice that leads to the best outcomes for patients and families. Our team coordinates activities that allow us to demonstrate nursing excellence through the Magnet® recognition program. We ensure VUMC nurses have a voice in nursing practice decisions by translating the VUMC Nursing Staff Bylaws into an active shared governance structure. If you have a question about your practice or an idea about how to make nursing practice better, we can help you search and summarize the literature and make evidence-based recommendations to improve practice. We can also help you implement a QI, EBP, or research project.
