Early Childhood Stuttering and Risk for Persistence: The Impact of Emotion on Speech and Cognitive Control
The purpose of the study is to learn more about how cognitive, emotional, and linguistic processes contribute to developmental stuttering and whether these factors predict persistence and recovery.
Caregivers and Parents of Preschoolers who Stutter
This study centers parents and caregivers of young children who stutter, with the ultimate goal of better understanding (1) how clinicians can best support what really matters to parents, and (2) how parents can best support their children’s communication.
Genetics and Developmental Stuttering
Developmental stuttering is a common speech condition that has an increased likelihood of occurrence in families, which likely indicates that genetic processes contribute to its onset and development. The Stuttering Lab collaborates with the Below Lab at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and scientists from other institutions to better understand genetic contributions to stuttering.
Data Science Institute
The Stuttering Lab collaborates with the researchers in the Vanderbilt Data Science Institute to apply novel techniques and facilitate discoveries in developmental stuttering.
