Investigating aspects of early childhood stuttering
What is Developmental Stuttering?
Some young children (age 3-6) will begin to stutter as they grow. Usually–but not always–stuttering is when children repeat sounds or words, prolong sounds, or when they seem to get “stuck” while talking. Stuttering is not caused by anything the caregiver or child has done wrong, but it can still be concerning.
Mission
Our lab's research is driven by a mission to better understand stuttering in young children, and to empower caregivers and educators to support communication and confidence in children who stutter.
