Genetics and Developmental Stuttering

Our collaborative research on genetic contributions to stuttering is designed to uncover new discoveries on the biological basis of stuttering.  This research has leveraged a variety of data sources.  Some of our recent studies have utilized the electronic health record database and linked DNA databanks at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (BioVU), which has enabled genome-wide association studies of the genetic variants associated with stuttering.  This research has also uncovered novel comorbidities associated with stuttering.
