Vanderbilt University Medical Center is certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) as a Multi-Specialty Portfolio Program. This certification allows the VUMC Office of Continuous Professional Development, Division of Maintenance of Certification (MOC) to support physician efforts to improve patient care through process improvement activities. Physicians are eligible for receiving Part IV Improvement in Medical Practice credit through the appropriate ABMS board.
Recent collaborations between the Accreditation Council for Continuing Education (ACCME) and the ABMS have also created a pathway for Physicians to receive Part II Self Assessment credit for activities certified for Continuing Medical Education Credit.
