The Office of Continuous Professional Development houses several scholarly initiatives. Overseeing wide-ranging educational and professional development opportunities at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Our programming consists of including Continuing Medical Education (CME), Continuing Education (CE) in Psychology the Educator Development Program (EDP), the Academy for Excellence in Education (AEE), and the Center for Advanced Mobile Healthcare Learning (CAMHL).
Educator Development Program (EDP)
The Educator Development Program (EDP) is committed to providing educator development initiatives and resources that increase knowledge, enhance teaching skills, challenge attitudes towards teaching, explore learning styles, and strengthen scholarly approach and scholarship. EDP offerings include workshops, webinars, a medical education consult service, a scholar’s program, residents as teachers and leaders’ program, peer review and coaching, a feedback program, a workshop library, and a newsletter.
Academy for Excellence in Education (AEE)
The Academy for Excellence in Education (AEE) provides a forum to foster higher levels of participation and promote excellence and scholarship in the delivery of education to health professionals. The Academy is a collective of outstanding faculty educators striving to have a significant impact on educational endeavors in diverse settings with a variety of learners. AEE offerings include a health education grand rounds series, distinguished lectureships, quarterly meetings, an annual recognition reception, and the Geoffrey Fleming AEE Mentorship Program.
Center for Advanced Mobile Healthcare Learning (CAMHL)
The mission of the Center for Advanced Mobile Healthcare Learning (CAMHL) is to create an approach to lifelong learning in healthcare that is effective, responsive, relevant, and easily accessible with the ultimate goal of improving patient and population health. QuizTime, an online learning system consisting of highly relevant and practical content delivered one question a day using a web-app quizzing platform, is an example of a CAMHL initiative.
