Jessica Young, MD, MPH

Dr. Jessica Young is an obstetrician-gynecologist, addiction medicine specialist and associate professor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She earned her medical degree and master's degree in public health at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed residency at VUMC. She pioneered and is the medical director for the VUMC program, Firefly, a perinatal outpatient program that integrates substance use disorder treatment with prenatal, postpartum and primary care. She has served as the maternal medical director of the Tennessee Initiative in Perinatal Quality Care and has led several statewide quality improvement projects and trainings on opioid use disorder in pregnancy. She was the 2025 recipient of the TIPQC Maternal Champion award. Board certified in both obstetrics-gynecology and addiction medicine, she has spoken regionally and nationally on the issue of substance use disorder in pregnancy.
