Program Objectives, Vision and Goals:

Biannual surgical teams are sent from Vanderbilt Children's Hospital for week-long service trips to support 
the work of the The Shalom Foundation.

Surgery Type: Rotating Specialties including:

ENT (Frank Virgin, MD, Amy Whigham, MD, Ryan Belcher, MD)

Orthopedic surgery

Ophthalmology (Meghan Flemmons, MD)

Pediatric general surgery (Wallace Neblett, MD)

Anesthesiology (Jon Niconchuk, MD)

Eligibility: Current pediatric anesthesia faculty and fellows, pediatric surgical faculty fellows and some 
residents, pediatric PACU and operating room nurses are eligible for participations

Program Length: 1 week twice annually

Languages Required: Spanish optional
