Robert Sinard, MD

Robert Sinard has been a head and neck oncologic surgeon at Vanderbilt University Medical Center since 2005 and the Program Director for our residency since 2009. In 2013, working with full-time missionary and regional surgeons, he established the first sub-Saharan effort to address a gap in knowledge and skill in advanced training in head and neck reconstruction, working in the educational center of Kijabe, Kenya. He has been a member of the AHNS Humanitarian Committee since 2017 and an Oral Board Examiner for the American Board of Otolaryngology since 2020. 

His many honors include the University of Texas-Southwestern's Residents’ Recognition Award for Teaching (1998 & 2000), the Wesley Wilkerson MD Award for Clinical Excellence (2015), the Vanderbilt Residents' Teaching Award (2016), the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery Foundation Honors Award (2016), and the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award (2018).
