Dakota Smith grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended the University of Kentucky where she completed her B.S. in Chemistry. After completing her undergraduate degree, she chose to move to Nashville and pursue her PharmD at Belmont University. As an intern at VUMC, Dakota has had the opportunity to explore the health-system side of pharmacy by training in operations, helping develop SOPs for the inpatient pharmacy, and shadowing different clinical positions. In the future, Dakota hopes to explore her interests in emergency medicine, ambulatory care, and community practice.
