Having access to fresh fruits and vegetables is a central part of Rooted Community Health's mission to promote human flourishing and an ethically responsible understanding of our interdependency as a community. There are many members of our community that do not have this sort of access for a variety of reasons. Here, you will find many different resources developed in concert with health professionals that address food security issues geared both to patients and care providers.
Resources for Patients
These resources highlight a variety of issues that can make it challenging for patients to find healthy food. At times, this is because the place the patient lives does not have a full-service grocery store and is forced to shop at a convenience store. Other times, patients need help knowing how to apply for assistance like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
