Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital (VTHH), 3rd Floor

Hello and welcome to our unit!

I’m Kim McKinney, RN, CCRN, Director of the VTHH Intensive Care Unit also known as VTHH ICU.  We are located on the third floor at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital (VTHH).

You will find the environment on our unit is based on a team approach. As a team we are better able to flex to meet the needs of both our patients and staff.

Our patients are unique because of their specialized needs and diverse diagnoses. We care for adult patients with many different critical illnesses. This patient population will allow you the opportunity to become comfortable with all body system needs.

One of the perks of working with our team is being able to care for patients that require different levels of treatment. We are able to successfully care for patients that require high levels of monitoring that normally would not be associated with a rural, community-based hospital.

Our nurses are successful because they have strong assessment and communication skills, adapt easily to new challenges, and utilize their team for support. New members to our team are provided with at least six weeks of orientation with an experienced, diverse preceptor and mentor that will facilitate growth and orientation.

We encourage professional growth.

The experiences on VTHH ICU will help you obtain your career goals by providing exposure to multiple levels of patient acuity.
