Luke is from Milan, TN, and graduated from The University of Tennessee at Martin with a B.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology. Following graduation, Luke worked as a research technician in developmental biology at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He joined the Van Kaer lab in 2017. His current research focuses on the contribution of autophagy, a cellular self-eating process induced by starvation and other types of stress, to the development and function of distinct immune cells.

Research Information

Luke's research focuses on the development and function of antigen presenting cells in the thymus that direct the development of a broad repertoire of self-tolerant T lymphocytes.
